Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon

Dr. Brendan Alleyne is an inspiring success story that speaks to his hard work, determination and, as his mentors have said, “Grit.”  Once a high school dropout, he persevered against all odds to become a highly respected, meticulous, and artistic plastic surgeon who is beloved by his patients.

As a Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship trained Plastic Surgeon, he is experienced in the entire breadth of plastic surgery but specializes in those procedures that he is most passionate about including rhinoplasty, facelifts, facial rejuvenation and migraine surgery. His down-to-earth manner, quick wit and ability to connect with anyone make it easy for patients to open up and share their hopes and goals.

He says “I need to understand a patient completely without making any assumptions.  Being a good listener is the key to ultimately meeting a patient’s expectations.”

Dr. Alleyne attended Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, OH. Then did an internship and residency at the Cleveland Clinic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. During his time training, he was selected to be a Clinical Instructor of Anatomy at the Cleveland Clinic Medical School. His goal is to continue teaching medical students and residents the art and science of plastic surgery. And today, he is proud to be a member of the world-renowned Renaissance Plastic Surgery team.

“Rhinoplasty requires particular attention to detail.”

Artistic balance, function and an emphasis on maintaining cultural differences make Dr. Alleyne the ultimate problem solver able to achieve truly stunning results.  He has special training in ethnic rhinoplasty as well as revision rhinoplasty which can be the most complex of surgeries. We are also excited to say that Dr. Alleyne will be among the first surgeons offering preservation rhinoplasty in all of Missouri.  This type of rhinoplasty retains much more of the native framework and assists with attaining a natural appearance. He has trained directly with the global rhinoplasty experts including Drs. Bahman Guyuron, James Zins, and Rod Rohrich in addition to being a member of The Rhinoplasty Society.

In revision rhinoplasty, he can improve a prior disappointing surgical result to give patients back their comfort and self-confidence.

“I use a surgical approach and process that are very comprehensive.”

Dr. Alleyne leaves nothing to chance for any surgical procedure he performs. For rhinoplasties, patients undergo a complete nasal analysis from three angles and can see an approximate outcome through 3D Imagery.  Dr. Alleyne requires two pre-surgery visits. It is essential he understand a patient’s three main goals to be sure he and they are in sync before, during and after surgery.

“Just as I was given hope, I try to instill that in others.”

Dr. Alleyne is so grateful for all he has attained and believes others can buck the naysayers and build the life they aspire to. Likewise, he is willing to take on any surgical challenge that he and the patient agree to pursue even when the patient has lost hope prior to meeting with him. A few examples include his being a member of a 20-surgeon successful facial transplant team at the Cleveland Clinic. He also helped give facial movement to a patient who was unable to even smile due to a rare disease.

“I’m a lifelong body builder. Little did I know it would make me a better plastic surgeon.”

The best surgeons have strong muscles and good posture, can maintain attention, and keep a positive attitude. That is Dr. Alleyne who spends hours on his feet, often straining his neck and shoulders.  He remains engaged until the job is done and is able to meet any challenge – both expected and unexpected.

Additionally, his passion for bodybuilding, anatomy, and teaching have all helped mold him into a great surgical teacher. Teaching is one of the pivotal roles of a plastic surgeon and he credits many of the wonderful teachers in his life for making his dreams a reality.

“I will be awarding scholarships for other high school dropouts.”

Dr. Alleyne is developing a scholarship program at Erie Community College that will help fund the education of those pursuing a career in the medical field who need a helping hand and encouragement, much as the doctor experienced himself.
